Homework VLE
A virtual learning environment (VLE) is a software system designed to support teaching and learning in an educational setting, as distinct from a Managed Learning Environment (MLE) where the focus is on management. A VLE will normally work over the Internet and provide a collection of tools such as those for assessment (particularly of types that can be marked automatically, such as multiple choice), communication, uploading of content, return of students' work, peer assessment, administration of student groups, collecting and organizing student grades, questionnaires, tracking tools, etc. New features in these systems include wikis, blogs, RSS and 3D virtual learning spaces.
While originally created for distance education, VLEs are now most often used to supplement the face-2-face classroom, commonly known as Blended Learning.
In 'Virtually There' a book and DVD pack distributed freely to schools by the Yorkshire and Humber Grid for Learning Foundation (YHGfL) Professor Stephen Heppell writes in the foreword: "Learning is breaking out of the narrow boxes that it was trapped in during the 20th century; teachers' professionalism, reflection and ingenuity are leading learning to places that genuinely excite this new generation of connected young school students - and their teachers too. VLEs are helping to make sure that their learning is not confined to a particular building, or restricted to any single location or moment.

Online education service.
- Sam Learning
Sam Learning is an internet service, so all the materials and all the data are stored on servers outside the school. This means everyone - Learners and Teachers - can access the service from virtually any computer with internet access - including at home, libraries, City Learning Centers, etc., It has many all year round learning benefits but it is particularly useful during exam periods. Advantages
The main advantage of the Sam Learning system is that it focuses your child on the essentials of revision, gives those roots and the more they use it the more confident they get. What could be better than walking into an exam eager, confident and up for the challenge?
Online Banking
The Advantages of Online Banking:
First let’s start off with the advantages of online banking. First and foremost, online banking is very, very, very convenient. It will allow you to pay your bills and make transactions anytime during the day and the week. The bank will never close because you can access it through your laptop or computer. So, no matter in which country you are anywhere in the world, you can go online and handle your finances. Secondly, online banking is very fast, effective and efficient. Over the Internet, you can make transactions that are typically executed and performed at a much faster pace than at ATM’s. Online banking services also give you the option of handling several different bank accounts from one site itself. Most online banking sites are compatible with programs like Microsoft Money and Quicken, which makes management of assets more effective.
The Disadvantages of Online Banking
Just like with anything else, there are disadvantages to online banking services too! The biggest problem is that most people lack trust. How many times have you performed transactions online and wondered whether you did the right thing? Of course, you can overcome any uneasiness by printing the transaction receipt. This receipt will conform whether or not your transaction has gone through successfully. Online banking can be difficult to learn for a beginner and a site could take time to start up. Some sites ask for photo identification, which can be very inconvenient. However, most online banking sites provide tutorials for online banking. Some sites provide live online customer support to provide solutions for any problems. The number of cases of banking frauds is considerably low so you don’t have to worry about the safety of your money. Clearly, the whole concept of online banking has its fair share of advantages as well as disadvantages. For some people, online banking simplifies life, while for the others it is intimidating and complex. Taking into consideration these perceptions, most banks have now started offering online banking services and a viable option to their clients.
Bite size
Advantages:
Sharing devices such as printers saves money. Site licenses are likely to be cheaper than buying several stand-alone licences. Files can easily be shared between users. Network users can communicate by email. Security is good - users cannot see other users' files unlike on stand-alone machines. A file server is easy to back up as all the data is stored in one place. Disadvantages: Purchasing the network cabling and file servers can be expensive. Managing a large network is complicated, requires training and a network manager usually needs to be employed. If the file server breaks down the files on the file server become inaccessible. E-mail might still work if it is on a separate server. The computers can still be used as stand alones. Viruses can spread to other computers throughout a computer network. There is a danger of hacking, particularly with wide area networks. Security procedures are needed to prevent such abuse.
Electronic Marketing
Advantages and Disadvantages Summary:
There is no doubt that electronic marketing has contributed positively in the life of modern societies, mainly the consuming societies. It allowed purchasing of materials cheaply without any limit, and without any restrictions. It also gave the chance to make a free selection and comparison between the prices of goods at the electronic department stores throughout the Internet. All such facilities are given to the consumers in a very short time without causing them to leave their office or home. In addition, the Electronic Marketing has exterminated the monopoly of goods and materials, all such acts of course are for the consumer's benefit. However, in addition to such advantages there are many disadvantages of such type of marketing; the Electronic Marketing has deleted the privacy of the consumer, because all of his movements through the Internet have been divulged and under control, in addition to lack of exclusive security through the Internet. Accordingly, many losses equally occurred to the customer and the merchant due to such acts of hackers who reveal the information and credit cards details. In addition, the Electronic Marketing caused many merchants, agents and monopolists to be vanquished because it gave the chance for direct communications between the producer and the consumer without passing through them; as such, many of such merchants have been yielded away from the way of this new technology. The Electronic Marketing was able to cause an upset down in many concepts and standards of economic science that have existed for so many years. Doors are still open for every new in this assumption and endless world as there are no limits that can stop such human ambition.
Advantages and Disadvantages of the Internet
Advantages
Information Information is probably the biggest advantage internet is offering. The Internet is a virtual treasure trove of information. Any kind of information on any topic under the sun is available on the Internet. The search engines like Google, yahoo is at your service on the Internet. You can almost find any type of data on almost any kind of subject that you are looking for. There is a huge amount of information available on the internet for just about every subject known to man, ranging from government law and services, trade fairs and conferences, market information, new ideas and technical support, the list is end less.
Services Many services are now provided on the internet such as online banking, job seeking, purchasing tickets for your favorite movies, guidance services on array of topics engulfing the every aspect of life, and hotel reservations. Often these services are not available off-line and can cost you more.
Disadvantages
Spamming: Spamming refers to sending unwanted e-mails in bulk, which provide no purpose and needlessly obstruct the entire system. Such illegal activities can be very frustrating for you, and so instead of just ignoring it, you should make an effort to try and stop these activities so that using the Internet can become that much safer.
Virus threat Virus is nothing but a program which disrupts the normal functioning of your computer systems. Computers attached to internet are more prone to virus attacks and they can end up into crashing your whole hard disk, causing you considerable headache.

Science Museum
Our history is embedded in the objects that we have invented, made and used. The Making the Modern World gallery displays a series of exceptional objects which mark new departures in technology and science – the events that have framed our world.
You’ll find such iconic items as Stephenson's original Rocket locomotive, Babbage's Difference Engine No. 1 and Crick and Watson's DNA model. These objects and many others are laid out in a chronological sequence that, in effect, comprises a cultural history of industrialisation from 1750 to the present day.
Alongside this central progression you’ll also find a series of historical studies which act as a comment on each age.
Another sequence of showcases looks at technology in everyday life, from 1750 to the present day. These displays use a large selection of objects drawn from right across the Museum's collections.
A fourth strand of the gallery, along a raised walkway, offers a rich display of models running in step with the main display. Made for a variety of uses, these are, in themselves, historic artefacts of the finest quality.

Netfrog

Net Frog guides you through a frog dissection that you can use as practice before or instead of an actual dissection:
Learn about anatomy as you go through the dissection, listen to audio, and watch the videos.
Learn about frog and human physiology (the way the body works) from the Guess What? button. Do you know what "amphibian" means?
Practice your skills with Tryit.
Click on underlined words for glossary definitions.
To perform an actual dissection, you will need a Dissection Kit: Tray, pins, scissors, scalpel, forceps, goggles, gloves, and probes. And, of course, a Preserved Frog. (Net-Frog also displays a Pithed Frog so that you can see what a frog's organs look like before it is preserved).
